Ready-to-Hunt™ Compound Bow Packages
International Ordering
Guide
|
Q: |
Are
Ready-to-Hunt™ Bows Available to International Customers?
|
|
A: |
Yes! Our Ready-to-Hunt™
bow packages are available for international purchase, and we
fill an increasing number of international orders each year.
However, international orders require a little more work than
standard domestic orders as we must create a Pro-Forma invoice
for all shipments leaving the USA. There are also a few additional
considerations to work out when shipping archery equipment abroad (shipping
method, payment arrangements, import fees, applicable
restrictions, etc.). But don't worry. The process is
fairly quick and painless. If you are interested in placing an
international order, you may find this FAQ section helpful. |
|
Q: |
Can International Customers Place Orders
Online? |
|
A: |
Not without a little help
first. For
international purchases, there are several details which cannot
be done online. To place an international order, you must
contact a salesperson to help
get the order going. Once we create your pro-forma invoice
and work out all the shipment details, we will send you a secure
paylink to complete your order and pay online (if you wish).
International orders placed
online without the proper documentation are automatically voided. |
|
Q: |
How do I Contact a Salesperson? |
|
A: |
Most of our international
orders are arranged totally via email. Due to differing time
zones, the high cost of international calls, and different
languages spoken around the world, most orders go more smoothly
when conducted via email correspondence. International order
inquiries should be sent to
adam@huntersfriend.com. |
|
Q: |
What Information Should I Include in My
Email? |
|
A: |
To get a quote for your
international bow package, please begin by visiting our
Help with the Details Section on ordering bow packages. Tell
us which bow package you would like. Then include your
answers to the 9 critical setup questions, along with any
special-requests, options, additions, or changes you wish to
make to your bow package. Also include your COMPLETE NAME AND
POSTAL ADDRESS (properly formatted), just as you would like it
to appear on your shipping label and invoice. |
|
Q: |
What about Shipping? How Much Will
Shipping Cost? |
|
A: |
While only your salesperson can give you
a precise quote, the shipping service chart below will show you
the available services and estimated pricing for international
delivery to many of our popular worldwide destinations.

Q: |
Why are
Shipping Costs Different for Soft-Cases vs. Hard-Cases? |
|
A: |
For large boxes, most
shippers calculate the rate based on dimensional weight
rather than just actual weight. The larger the box, the
more expensive it is to ship. This is why we offer
international customers an option. Our standard Flambeau
Hard-Shell Bow Case is very large (over 48"/1.2m in total
length) and the finished box dimensions are 49"x7"x21".
This qualifies as an oversize package and generally costs more
to transport.
Soft Cases are less expensive to transport because they are
lighter, smaller, and can be folded inside the packaging along
with your bow. So if you choose the soft-case option, your
order can be packaged in a much smaller box (approximately
40"x5"x15"). This often saves an additional 15-20% on the
cost of transportation. Please note that the United States
Postal Service restricts the maximum allowable package size to
some locations (Australia & South Africa in particular).
So the Soft-Case is the only available option for some service
types/areas. |

|
Q: |
After I Submit
My Details, Will I Receive a Pro-Forma Invoice? |
|
A: |
Yes! Once you have
submitted your order details, we will create a pro-forma invoice
for your review (.jpg or .pdf format) and return it to your
email address. All quotes are good for 30 days. If your
pro-forma invoice and all order details are correct, we can
proceed to payment and finalizing the order. |
|
|
Q: |
How Do I Pay
for my International Bow Package Order? |
|
A: |
International orders may be
paid via bank wire-transfer (electronic transfer),
Western Union payment services, or with a major credit card
(most locations). When you receive your pro-forma invoice, you
will also receive complete instructions and a secure paylink for
executing your payment via credit card. |
|
|
Q: |
Will I Have to
Pay Import Fees? |
|
A: |
Probably yes! But be advised,
Hunter's Friend DOES NOT levy or collect foreign import fees. We
play no role in this matter. Every country has their own system
of computing import fees. In some cases, import charges may be
minimal. In others, import charges may be quite significant. But
in virtually all cases, you will have some amount of duty,
taxes, disbursement fees, or other import fees due upon
arrival of your new bow package. Contact your
local postal authority for specific details about the costs of
receiving goods from the USA. |
|
|
Q: |
Can Hunter's
Friend Mark my Package as a "GIFT" or a "REPAIR" to Avoid Import
Fees? |
|
A: |
Absolutely not! This is clearly illegal, so
please do not ask. Our company policy, as well as USPS
policy strictly prohibits the falsification of
international shipping/custom documentation. All
international orders are invoiced for the actual amounts and are
properly declared and insured for the protection of all. |
|
|
|
|
Q: |
Does Hunter's
Friend Ship Anywhere in the World? |
|
A: |
Almost! If the
US Postal Service
ships to your country, then WE ship to your country. Of
course, the rules aren't the same in every country. Please
visit the
USPS Index of Countries to see applicable restrictions (max
size, value, banned items, etc.). |
|
|
|
|
Q: |
Can my package
be shipped by DHL, FedEx, UPS or other commercial carrier? |
|
A: |
Generally, no. Shipping a large bow package
via the commercial carriers is prohibitively expensive to most international destinations
(often 2X-5X more expensive than the US Postal Service).
We also find that many commercial carriers do not handle import
fees effectively at the point of delivery. In many cases,
the shipper and/or the recipient are later billed for inflated
import fees ... which invariably results in disputes. So
we keep it simple. The US Postal Service does an
outstanding job of servicing most countries around the world ...
so we stick with what works! |
|
|
|
|
Q: |
Does Hunter's
Friend Ship to Indonesia & the Philippines? |
|
A: |
Probably not. This is not our first year in
business. If you are planning to request (multiple)
high-dollar items to paid on a credit card and express shipped
to the South Pacific, don't bother wasting your time.
Credit card fraud is rampant in some areas of the world ... an
issue we are acutely aware of. High risk orders must be
prepaid via wire-transfer or Western Union ONLY. If you
are ordering from a high-risk region, your salesperson will
instruct you on how to proceed with your order.
