Our
Ready-to-Hunt™ bow packages are available for international
purchase, and we fill an increasing number of international
orders each year. However, international orders require a
little more time and effort, as there are a number of additional
considerations when shipping archery equipment abroad (shipping,
payment, import fees, applicable restrictions, etc.). If you
are interested in placing an international order, you may find
this FAQ section helpful.
CAN I PLACE AN INTERNATIONAL ORDER ONLINE?
Sorry, no. We have several details to arrange for international
purchases which cannot be done online. To place an
international order, you must contact a salesperson to help you
place the order. Orders placed online from outside the US are
automatically voided.
HOW DO I CONTACT A SALESPERSON?
Most of our international orders are arranged totally via
email. Due to differing time zones, the high cost of
international calls, and different languages spoken around the
world, most orders go more smoothly when conducted via email
correspondence. International order inquiries should be sent to
scott@huntersfriend.com.
WHAT
INFORMATION SHOULD I INCLUDE IN MY EMAIL?
To get a quote for your international bow package, please
begin by visiting our
Help with the Details Section on ordering bow packages.
Return the answers to the 9 critical setup questions, along with
any special-requests, options or changes you wish to make to
your bow package. Also include your COMPLETE NAME AND POSTAL
ADDRESS (properly formatted), just as you would like it to
appear on your shipping label and invoice.
WILL I RECEIVE A PRO-FORMA INVOICE?
Yes. Once you have submitted your order details, we will create
a pro-forma invoice for your review (.jpg or .pdf format) and
return it to your email address. All quotes are good for 30
days. If your pro-forma invoice and all order details are
correct, we can proceed to payment and finalizing the order.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY INTERNATIONAL ORDER?
International orders may be paid via bank wire-transfer
(electronic transfer),
Western Union payment services, or with a major credit card
(some locations). When you receive your pro-forma invoice, you
will also receive complete instructions on executing your
payment.
HOW
MUCH WILL SHIPPING COST?
For a large item (like a bow package), international shipping
costs can be prohibitively expensive with the major commercial
carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.). Fortunately, the
United States
Postal Service will deliver packages to virtually any global
destination for about 1/3 the cost of the commercial carriers.
A typical bow package can be shipped (insured) to popular
overseas destinations (Europe, South Africa, Australia) for
under $100 USD. Ready-to-Hunt Package shipments (packaged
with a hardshell bowcase) to Canada are
charged a flat rate of $55. You will receive a precise quote on
your pro-forma invoice.
OVERSIZED PACKAGE RESTRICTIONS
For US Postal shipments, there is one additional
consideration. For some overseas destinations, the United
States Postal Service restricts the maximum allowable package
size (to Australia & South Africa in particular). In these
cases, packages can be no longer than 46" and must have a
combined length and girth of 79" or less. The size of our
normal Ready-to-Hunt™ bow packages exceed these measurements
because of the large dimensions of the hard-shell bow case. So
in instances where size restrictions are in effect, we must
substitute an equivalent soft-case for the hard-shell bow case
that is normally included. This allows us to pack the order
more conservatively. Your pro-forma invoice will indicate the
case substitution if it is necessary. Otherwise, the hard-shell
case will be included as usual.
WILL I HAVE TO PAY IMPORT FEES (TAXES/DUTY)?
Probably yes! But be advised, Hunter's Friend DOES NOT
levy or collect foreign import fees. We play no role in this
matter. Every country has their own system of computing import
fees. In some cases, import charges may be minimal. In others,
import charges may be quite significant. But in virtually all
cases, you will have some amount of duty, taxes, disbursement
fees, brokerage fees, or other import fees due upon arrival of
your new bow package. We cannot estimate or prepay these
charges. We strongly recommend that international customers
contact their postal facility or import authority to inquire
about the cost of import fees BEFORE ordering goods from the
United States of America.
CAN HUNTER'S FRIEND MARK MY PURCHASE AS A "GIFT" OR "REPAIR"
SO I CAN AVOID PAYING IMPORT FEES?
Absolutely not! Our company policy, as well as USPS policy,
prohibits us from falsifying such documents. All international
orders are invoiced for the actual amounts and are properly
declared.
