Not everyone has assembled a crossbow before and it can seem a little intimidating at first. Luckily the assembly process is not very difficult and it can be done in just a few minutes. However, we all know how helpful a good "how to" video can be in this type of situation and we decided to put together one with the help of Tony Valentine from PSE Archery. In this video he will walk you through everything from opening the package, to firing the first shots. Of course, we are always here to answer any additional questions you may have, so if you run into any, just give us a call at 606-297-1011.
It is always helpful to hear from more than one source when it comes to this sort of thing. There are tons of videos and reviews online when it comes to the PSE Thrive and we encourage you to read/watch/investigate as many as you possibly can. The more you know about this product going into it, the better! This is just one of several videos I found online talking about the Fang! A lot of this stuff comes down to personal preferences on the shooters part, but a lot can be learned from hearing about other peoples experiences with a product.
|DRY FIRES HAPPEN TO CROSSBOWS TOO!
If you dry fire ANY bow available on the market today the outcome will almost always be the same. THE BOW WILL GO BOOM! This is never more true than it is with crossbows. Dry firing a crossbow is extremely dangerous because the bow can come apart and hit the shooter or anyone around them. Always take care in loading and unloading your crossbow, and always double check that there is an arrow loaded before you fire. This video will give you an idea of just how hard of a hit your crossbow will take if you fire without an arrow.
Most crossbow manufacturers, including PSE, put an anti dry-fire mechanism in their crossbows. It is extremely useful in preventing accidental dry-fires but this does NOT mean it is impossible to dry-fire your crossbow and it certainly should not ever be used for anything other than a safety mechanism.
