Darton DS-3800
This bow is the
350 fps sleeper of the season. You won't see a hunting
celebrity holding one aloft. You won't hear anyone
yammer on about the DS-3800 on the Outdoor Channel either.
You probably won't even see them in the major publications
... and for a good reason. Darton largely uses their
bow line as a crucible for testing cam technology which they
license to other bow manufacturers.
If you already have a really fast bow, chances are you're
shooting Darton cam technology now. The fact is,
there's a little Darton DNA in every Hoyt, every Bowtech,
even in a few Mathews bows (sorry fans). You just
don't hear much about it on the consumer side of the
business. But Darton drives much of the industry ...
quietly.
That is until this year. Darton threw us all a wicked
curve ball with the DS-3800. Hieeeyah!!! This bow is
FAST! We shot the bow over and over. We examined and
tested the bow in every way just short of taking x-rays. We
admit, we were practically trying to find something wrong
with it. But in the end, the truth was undeniable. This bow
is a BEAST! Of course, we'd prefer a more memorable
and marketable name, but other than that the DS-3800 is a
slam dunk.
The DS-3800 is one of the hottest performance bows we've
ever evaluated. Inching further out on the limb here, the
DS-3800 is almost certainly the fastest 6" brace height bow
on the market for 2012. We simply had to have it for our
RTH program. Even if mainstream bowhunters don't know
it's out there ... now, we do!
